Membership Requirements

 

Interested in joining our Fire Department? Come by our main fire station located at 301 S. White Oak Rd and pick up an application. We have a full time Chief and Fire Marshal along with over 20 Volunteer Fire Fighters. We need members who are interested in helping others. We have training on the first three Mondays of each month from 7pm to 10pm at our main fire station.

Requirements for Membership in the White Oak Volunteer Fire Department

1.     Complete the application.

2.     Submit to a complete Drivers License History check.

3.     Submit to a complete Computerized Criminal History Check

4.     Submit to a City of White Oak approved drug screen.

5.     Submit to a City of White Oak approved Physical Exam.

6.     Complete an objective written exam with a minimum passing score

        of 70%

7.     Complete an objective performance exam with a passing score.

8.     Pass a written street test with a minimum score of 80%

9.     If not already able to document such certification in writing, successfully complete the 70 hour Introductory Fire Fighter Training (SFFMA) within 6 months of completing all other above requirements.

10.   Document completion of NIMS-100m NIMS-200, NIMS-700, and NIMS 800 courses.

When the requirements are met the Department will issue you all gear required to respond to fires and or EMS calls.

Membership is determined by meeting the above qualifications.
